Our Story
At Auntie Penny, everything is fresh-baked to order — nothing ever sits on a shelf waiting to be picked. Every cookie, roll, and babka is made just for you, with no waste and no shortcuts.
But this story started long before Auntie Penny was ever a name.
From the time she was just three years old, Penny wasn’t glued to cartoons like most kids. Instead, she’d light up in front of the TV whenever a cooking show came on. Baking shows were her cartoons. In the kitchen, she’d hover near her grandmother — a woman whose cooking and baking could make an entire family feel at home. Those moments planted the first seeds of what would become a lifelong passion.
By her teenage years, Penny was baking simple sweets like brownies and sharing them with her church community. People didn’t just enjoy them — they loved them. At 16, she even began selling cupcakes, cheesecakes, and brownies. But even as life pulled her into other directions, baking never left her hands — or her heart.
When she came to America, life grew busier. Between adjusting to the American way, working and exploring other skills, she put her baking dreams on pause. But during the pandemic, when everything shut down and the world felt uncertain, she turned back to the one thing that always brought people comfort: baking. She started sharing her creations in community groups, and the response was overwhelming. Orders began to come in, friends and neighbors smiled again, and something inside her said: this is
what I was meant to do.
That’s when the childhood nickname returned. “Penny” was the name her family had always called her growing up, and as her warm, home-style baking started spreading joy again, the name Auntie Penny was born. Because for every customer, she wanted it to feel like that familiar relative whose home you couldn’t wait to visit — the smell of cookies in the oven, rolls fresh on the table, and food made with love.
Today, Auntie Penny is built on that same spirit. Through life’s ups and downs, baking has always been a way to bring people together. Every cookie, roll, and babka we make carries that same heart: fresh, comforting, and made just for you.
Because when food is baked with love, it’s more than just something to eat — it’s something to remember.
